Swedish desolation
I came to Sweden to take photos of nature and water landscapes. I never expected to find so much decay in Sweden.
House at the lake
In this part of Sweden the most of the houses are painted red. I don't exactly know why, but it works great with dark blue skies ;-).
Crawling tree
We were tired off. We walked, crawled and run during a long evening trip. As we walked to our tent I saw this crawling tree.
Haunted Mansion
During an exploring trip we found this beauty in the field. The gate was open and I thought it was completely empty and decayed. I wanted to go in, but then I saw a car behind the fence, shit! I was very curious about the inside of the mansion. Luckily enough I could capture this haunted house from the outside.
Old barn
In some parts of Sweden you will find these red colored sheds. I don't know the exact reason, but they are beautiful!
Sweden is so calm and relaxt. I really liked it here from the first day.
Serenity
Me and my girlfriend went to a forest near by in search of Elks. We heared them calling before so we hoped to see or hear something from them. With no result. We haven't heard or seen a single thing. So we decided to take a photo of this powerfull forest. Sweden has the best nature I have ever seen. Beautiful...
Black & White
It was a latenight evening and we were followed by these two horses in the field. They followed our steps and were pretty curious of what we were doing there. Every time when we're looking for elks we find something else :(. Happily enough we met these kind animals.
Sunrise boat
This is the first photo taken in Sweden. We were exploring some nature landscapes and found this beautiful scene in front of our tent ;-).
Motion
My girlfriend wants to be my private model. I always tell her to turn over and watch the beautiful view ;-). Not because she isn't photogenic, but simple because I don't like peoples faces in my photos.
Freedom
Free time means freedom for me. This summer I am travelling in Sweden with my girlfriend. This photo is taken on our way to Sweden.
Broken home
I just have re-edit this photo from 2010. It was a great urban exploration location. This photo is taken from a decayed landhouse. I wonder if it's not already been broken down.
Cage
I think you will now this kind of feeling. Sitting at work, want to get out of the cage, but it just can't. I'm really looking forward to my upcoming holiday. There will be lot's of photography time, yes!
Antwerp
My girlfriend's brother lives in Antwerp, the city with beautiful historic buildings. Nicely enough we could stay in his apartment for a few days and check out this interesting city. This photo is taken out of the window from my girlfriend's brother his appartement.
Watchman
More photos to come, stay tuned. Soon I am able to hold my camera a bit more, fin-al-ly.
Road bridge
Busy, busy, busy times! Soon I will be able to find some nice new spots again. Stay tuned.
Abandoned castle
Two minutes later after taking this photo the owner arrived on his quad. We were running and he almost got us! Later on we heared dogs so we were kinda scared, haha.
Sailorman
Yesterday we have recorded a part of our videoclip in Groningen. Thanks Douwe (a friends father a.k.a. sailorman) for helping us out! The recordings took place in an old farmers barn. This photo is taken during our videoshoot. It is great to meet people living a complete different life. Old habitats, stories and some great coffee, thanks for this memorable day!
Hobo Landhouse
Previous week I saw this "decayed" landhouse standing alone in the field and decided to get up early today to catch this beauty in the morning (5:00). The morning light was absolutely breathtaking. The rain was coming and ofcourse, I forgot to bring an umbrella, stupid! Lucky me I could catch some of the dark clouds. (Click on the photo for the big version).
In Search of Decay
I enjoy the last few days here in Austria. My girl just found this photo on my Macbook and suggested to re-edit it. This photo is taken in Doel, a decayed city nearby Antwerp (Belgium). It is absolutely amazing to see a complete empty city without people. I will visit some decayed places in short time, I just need some decay ; ).
Decayed Landhouse
I just saw this photo from winter 2009. With two friends (Mathieu and Michel) we were on photovacation in Belgium in search of decayed buildings. On this photo you see Chateau Du Loupe, an abandoned landhouse somewhere in Belgium.
River
Yesterday we went to a river nearby Haiming. It is always beautiful to go there by sunset. The clouds have just more expression and you don't have to handle with high contrasts. Thanks Lys for standing there and enjoying the view : - ).
Upcoming Storm
A storm was coming and me and my girl were just waiting for it. The wind was overwhelming and some near by standing tents couldn't take it, awesome! We already noticed some dark clouds and decided to find a nice spot in a cornfield. When the rain started we decided to go back.
Inspiring Evening
Yesterday I have met a man from Canada who's traveling for almost 7 years. Inspiring but lonely I think. During this photo we were talking about hobby's, life and traveling. It's great to speak with somebody who's completely understanding your way of life. What an evening. Oh and I have used my B/W filter for the long exposure.
Haiming, Austria
I took this photo in Haiming (Austria) during sunset. I really like these mountain landscapes. Everything looks so enormous.
Golden clouds
I took this photo a long time ago, but I think it's worth the share. I love sunset clouds!
Classroom
This photo was taken in one the basements of Chateau de Mirande. Scary, dangerous but really awesome to get adrenaline for free.
Decayed Concrete Factory
This huge factory is decayed for several years. When trying to find a way to get in the owner spotted me and offered to enter, weird but great. Thanks!
The waiters
This picture was taken in Zeeland, the Netherlands. The sun was almost down and I saw this silhouette of two sheep.
Chateau DL
Because of the bad weather we needed to stay a bit longer in Belgium as planned. We took some photos of an abandoned mansion today. I love my ND filter. TUTORIAL
B/W addiction
Since I still haven't got my Hoya 10 stop filter, no landscapes this time. This weekend I went to a Belgium 1st World War fort. This building was one of the "newest" of the island.
Overview de Mirande
The last photo of the Mirande Chateau series. I have used this photo for a new tutorial, check it out -> HDR Photography Tutorial 3: Dark Dramatic HDR (+ Video)
Broken but Beautiful
Just saw this photo from last weekend standing in another map (forgot it;-)). The composition isn't very original, but I really love this hall. Broken but still beautiful!
Maggie’s Bookshop
My band needed some photos for promotion. I have used my tripod + remote for thisone.
Underground hall
In some of the buildings I have been you can almost feel the history, and so in this one. I still don't where the logo stands for. Who helps me:)?
Seeing
This weekend I went to a Belgium 1st World War fort. Look out, the gas masks are watching you:D.
Handyman
Some people are handy with their hands. If I see buildings like these, I think it could use a handyman's hand. Made in Beelitz.
Doll
Sometimes dolls just bring some extra atmosphere. Also taken in Beelitz, the best urban place on earth.
Headless
This week updates from fantasyland. Oh, and the head is not removed in photoshop. I can bend my neck a bit too mutch;) Beelitz is still amazing.
Loner
This is absolutely the best room I have ever seen. The lighting was just perfect. Beelitz-> Pure horror.
Anonymous
No identity, always great for your fantasies so try to create your own story;). This photo was taken somewhere in Beelitz.
Playground of the past
Today we went to an abandoned orphanage and I must say it was pretty lugubrious. This photo was taken in front of the big orphanage. EDIT: The clouds have some 8bit problems:(.
Reflection of the past
Abandoned is all about the past. Sometimes it's cool to imagine how the activity was in an abandoned building like this coal mine. The photo is a bit messy, but it fits with the mood of this building.
Scars of the past
I went to an old coal mine (Zeche Hugo) with some friends today. It was really interesting to feel the history of this location.
Workroom
I was blinded by the incoming light when I entered this workroom. It almost looks like a room from a prison. Scary, oppressive but so beautiful.
Colourful pigeon
This beautiful coloured pigeon died on a not so colourful ground. It's sad to see this bird, what means to be a flying happyness, lifeless on a cold ground.
Haunted house
The first time I used my B/W 10-stop filter. Great with long shutterspeeds for making clouds looking more dynamic.
Natural against unnatural
Cold against warmth. Daylight against the light from a bulb. Natural against unnatural.
Stairs
Because of the bad weather we needed to stay a bit longer in Belgium as planned. We took some photos of an abandoned mansion today. It was breathtaking seeing this beautiful stairs combined with the fallen light.
Deaddoll
For making photos with a "human" touch I borrow my friend's "girlfriend". Beelitz stays my favourite abandoned spot.
Smile
I love those TV-presenters who can act a real smile very nicely. I think these people practising by using a denture like thisone. Big smile.
Maskless Masquerade
Can't you walk maskless in this masquerade? Stand down and face the reason? Who's to answer you? (Band: Unjust - In search of a ghost)
Silhouette
It is the second time in Beelitz for me. This urban funpark got lots of great buildings and silhouettes ;-).
Stairs
This weekend I went to an abbey in Germany called St. Josefsheim. The big abbey is very attractive for Urban explorers like me.
Forbidden Church
There are not many objects left in this big church but the old atmosphere was overwhelming. It was amazing! This photo was taken in the old St. Josefsheim abbey.
Railway
Morning is often time for me to get my rest. A nice long sleep with no sense of time. Today is different!
Industrial Revolution
Sometimes it is good to see what is bad so you know how to do it different. Today is such a day. I thought the original photo (Industrial Revolution) could use a recrop.
Abandoned Funpark
Cold, snow and windy. I went to an abandoned funpark in Belgium with my friends. Making photos with snow on the ground was a challenge.
Underground
I have been extremely busy lately, but this weekend I finally got some sparetime. I went with a good friend Mathieu to "Zuid-Limburg" (netherlands). Not really special, but it got some nice spots if you keep your eyes open (Spot found by Mathieu ;-)).
